Stories from the Olive Tree Campaign fields and beneficiary farmers
Nariman Shalaldeh is a 48 years old farmer and housewife, from the village of Sa'er - in Hebron area. She has 9 family members, depending on farming as the only source of income for the family.
Nariman owns 20 dunums of land (1 dunum = 1,000 square meters) in the area of Zaa'faran. The land is planted with almond and fruit trees. The Israeli colony (settlement) of Asfar was constructed 500 meters away from her land and threatens it with expansion.
In 2014, settlers attacked her land and uprooted 20 olive trees. She and her family get frequently harassed by settlers and prevented from reaching their filed!
In 2016, the JAI' Olive Tree Campaign supported Nariman and her family with 50 sponsored olive trees, to help them stay in their land, protect it and show solidarity with the family.
