31st, March 2012
A group of 14 students from various nationalities and backgrounds, studying in the UK, who had a trip to Palestine organized by Zajel Center – Al-Najah National University in Nablus – were received by the JAI on Saturday the 31st of March 2012.
The group was briefed about the EJ YMCA, YWCA of Palestine, and their Joint Advocacy Initiative (JAI), with its advocacy work and tools, including campaigns, youth exchange, local and international programs and activities, as well as expectations from partners, friends, and visiting groups.
They were then guided by the JAI into a tour within the Bethlehem area to witness land confiscation process by the Israeli government, the apartheid wall, settlements construction and expansion, as well as some JAI Olive Tree Campaign fields and farmers.
It is worth mentioning that the JAI had previous received and arranged such programs for groups through Zajel Center, as well as other international groups, in a way to educate international activist about the reality of the occupation, and equip them with advocacy tools.
