From the 28th of November to the 5th of December 2016, four JAI-trained Palestinian students, together with the JAI' exchange program coordinator, have visited two JAI partner Danish schools, namely Nørre Nissum Efterskole and Dronninglund Efterskole.
Two Palestinian students a boy and a girl stayed at each school, where they met, chatted, interacted and created friendships with the Danish students. The Palestinians students shared with them about their life under occupation, challenges they face, their dreams and experiences in the conflict. They gave some presentations, with their personal reflections, and answered questions to various classes at the partner schools and others at some surrounding private and public schools.
The Palestinian students have joined the Danish students in many of their classes and creative activities, sports and arts at the schools. They participated and performed at fundraising events, each school organized during that week, for the JAI' Olive Tree Campaign.
The JAI' exchange programs officer, spent part of the week at one school, and the rest at another. He gave various talks on the Olive Tree Campaign, with its geopolitical background and impact. This is beside meetings with the schools contact teachers and headmasters on the ongoing partnership' development.
The visit come as part of an ongoing students' exchange program with the above Danish students, where in March 2017 the JAI will organize and host a program for the Global Teenager / Class of their schools, together with the whole trained 25-30 Palestinian students.
