Four JAI-trained Palestinian teenager students, together with the JAI's exchange programs coordinator, Ibrahim, have ended their exchange trip at Nørre Nissum Efterskole (NNE) in Denmark, which lasted from the 26th of November to the 3rd of December 2014.
Their program at NNE included meeting the students, mostly the Global Teenagers who are 57 students, chat with them, tell them about their daily social life and life under occupation in Palestine, challenges they face, their dreams, stories, experiences, beside their social life and culture in Palestine. In one of the sessions, the Global Teenagers students were divided into 3 groups, and had 3 workshops successively and rotationally. In each workshop, the Palestinian students talked to one group, Ibrahim presented about the JAI with its activities and campaigns to the second group and a staff from the JAI partner DanChurch Aid, presented about the DCA work and the NNE-JAI partnership to the third group.
NNE has also arranged for the Palestinian students to present about Palestine and various aspects of occupation measures to public school students, in Lemvig close to NNE, as well as meeting and talking about Palestine and scouts in Palestine to a Danish scout groups. Ibrahim also had the chance to present Palestine under occupation to students at Lemvig Gymnasium private school.
The week also included free chatting with students, playing sports and music and games together, joining the Danish students' various classes, prayer times, decorating NNE for Christmas, and others. Nevertheless, the Palestinian students have spent the weekend at some NNE Danish students' families, to further develop friendships and experience the Danish family life.
These Palestinian students, with other JAI-trained students, will receive the NNE Global Teenagers during their visit to Palestine, to be organized by the JAI, in March 2015, and spend most of the time with. This exchange program was developed between the JAI and NNE, through DanChurch Aid, since more than 5 years so far.
The four Palestinian students, among other 35 students from 5 schools in Beit Sahour, were trained by the JAI during last summer for this and other exchange programs to communicate Palestine and be young advocates to the Palestinian cause and JAI campaigns.
