A week program in Palestine, from the 7th to the 14th of March 2019, was arranged and hosted by the JAI for 18 students, and 5 leaders, from the JAI partner Danish Dronninglund Efterskole.
Their week included ice-breaking, interaction, Palestinian families visits and chat, jointly planting internationally-sponsored (sponsored by same school - last year' students) olive trees (in a threatened Palestinian field) with Palestinian teenagers.
Guided tours and visits were organized where the Danish students witness the wall, colonies (settlements), settlers' bypass roads and land confiscation in the Bethlehem area, as well as the Israeli colonies (settlements), checkpoints and closed streets inside the old city of Hebron.
A half day visit program was organized for the Danish students to a Palestinian school - Dar-Salah Girls Public School, in Dar-Salah village, east of the Bethlehem area, from which Palestinian students were part of the program, at which they met their class mates and other classes, toured inside the school, had games and chatting with the students, were introduced to school life, and Danish students presented about Denmark and their Efterskole to the Palestinian students.
The Danish students also had guided tours inside the Church of Nativity, YMCA Beit Sahour, Ibrahimi Mosque (Tombs of the Patriarchs) in Hebron, and inside Dhaisha refugee camp by the Palestinian students.
