A JAI's Palestinian youth activist, Ramsis Hijazi, from Balata Refugee Camp in Nablus area, has participated at the Y Global (YMCA-YWCA Norway Global Office) Global Week in Oslo, from the 12th to the 18th of August 2017.
Ramsis participated in various sessions and activities including an advocacy session, campaigns, 'Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)' and the UN post 21 Agenda and young people, mobilization, social media, Europe 2020 and the key principles of influence.
He also joined creative activities and takes of stories about privileges and margins are different from one country to the other which actually created in my opinion a safe area for people to talk about their experiences, commonalities and differences between their different cultures and countries!
He reflected that: "I learned something called the 'Problem Tree' which is a technique to analyze and solve problems – it really helped me a lot and changed the way I analyze and solve the problems that faces me in any part of daily or professional life! We also talked about the definitions of Extremism and Radicalization which was not that easy to define at first because every part in the world defines it in its different way".
They talked about projects to do when they go back and beyond the Global Week.
Ramsis also reflected: "I had an amazing great experiences during my week with all the amazing people I met in the Global week specially the organizers who helped us a lot with their sessions and schedule. I have a bigger family around the whole world now and I really look forward to meeting them again one day soon".
