In cooperation with the Alumni Unit of Al-Najah National University in Nablus, the JAI organized a training session in Democratic Citizenship, from the 8th to the 10th of July 2017, for 20 of the University' 2nd and 3rd year Law and Political Science students.
The training aimed at educating the students in international and humanitarian law, democratic citizenship, Palestinian cause and peace issue on the local and international levels.
Subjects presented and trained in included law in the Palestinian area, Palestinian rights, identity, history, and the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) campaign with its forms, anti-normalization and the role of Palestinian youth in BDS.
The training also included advocacy mechanisms, managing campaigns, usage of media in lobbying and formation of advocacy groups on the community level to influence decision makers locally and internationally.
At the end of the training, trainees were given certificates from the JAI and Al-Najah University, and they expressed their gratitude to what they have gained in terms of information and experience.
