Olive trees are the icon of the Palestinian land and the symbol of our culture. As a young girl, I want to live in freedom and in love with nature in Palestine. I have a strong connection to the land which I and my family take care of, protect and plant with trees.
In March 2023, we participated with the JAI in exchange programs with Danish students, where we did many activities. The most interesting part was planting olive trees together. We showed our love to the land and explained to the internationals more about what we are subjected to by the Israelis, including land damages, threats of confiscation and harm to the Palestinian heritage.
Olive trees will always be protected by Palestinians, whatever this costs. Olive tree is a sacred tree for Palestinians, symbolizing steadfastness and pride in the face of the Israeli colonization.
