Hani Odeh is a 31 years old farmer with 6 family members, lives in Artas village, south-west of the Bethlehem area. He has a piece of 27 dunums (1 dunum = 1000 m2) of land in Al-Khader area (Gush Etzion Israeli settlement block), between the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron.
The Israeli colony (settlement) of 'Gush Etzion' was constructed adjacent to his land, causing it be under a high threat of confiscation due to the settlement's expansion policy. Hani's land is planted with various fruit trees, including olives, grapes, figs, almonds, peach, and plum.
In 2019, the Olive Tree Campaign supported Hani and his family with 200 internationally-sponsored olive trees, and had internationals, through the campaign, helped them plant those trees, to help Hani protect his land and Keep Hope Alive.
