The Olive Picking Program 2019, lasted from the 19th to the 28th of October, where 75 internationals from various countries in the world participated.
Participants helped Palestinian farmers and their families harvest their olive fruits at their threatened fields in various villages in the Bethlehem area, that are subjected to Israeli colonies (settlements) expansion, settlers' harassment, Israeli army measures ...etc. The participants were divided into two groups and 4 olive picking activities for each was organized.
On the other days and afternoons, participants had guided tours in the cities of Bethlehem, Hebron, and Jerusalem, where they witnessed the Israeli measures on the groups, including the Apartheid wall, colonies (settlements), land confiscation, checkpoints, and inside Palestinian refugee camps.
Various professional presentations and speeches were given to the participants, in some afternoons and evenings, including the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions Campaign, the Kairos Palestine Initiative, geopolitical presentations, ongoing displacement of Palestinians and their right of return, and others.
At the end of the program, an advocacy session was carried out for the participants, of initiatives, activities, and campaigns they could be involved in their countries, or within their movements, churches, communities, to be change makers towards ending occupation and the achievement of peace with justice in Palestine.
