The JAI has arranged and hosted a 5-day program in Palestine, between the 10th and 15th of March 2018, for a delegation of 20 people from ARCI (Associazione Ricreativa e Culturale Italiana).
The delegation was introduced to the JAI work and the Olive Tree Campaign, with some geopolitical background, at the JAI office.
Their program then included the planting of their sponsored olive trees for two days at Palestinian threatened fields in the villages of Al-Khader and Wad Fukin, followed by guided tours to witness the wall-settlements-settlers bypass roads in the Bethlehem area.
Sessions and guided tours were also organized in Dhaisha Camp, where they met with Shoruq Center, who introduced to the delegation life in the camp, their media center, activities, and took them in a tour inside the camp. In Hebron they had a presentation at the TIPH (Temporarily International Presence in Hebron), the Land Research Center, guided tour in the old city to witness the Israeli settlements, closures, checkpoints, where they also walked into the Shuhada street and visited the divided Ibrahimi Mosque (Tombs of the Patriarchs).
In Ramallah, they were briefed on the Israeli measures against Palestinian children at the DCI-PS (Defense for Children International - Palestine Section), followed by a visit to the Tomb of Arafat and Nabi Saleh village, where they met Basim Tamimi, Ahed's father, Basim relatives and counsins, and members of the Popular Resistance Committee, which they were briefed about.
