The JAI has arranged a 4-day program in Palestine for 30 students and their teachers from the partner Danish Silkeborg Folk High School, from the 3rd - 6th of November 2017.
Their program included on the 3rd, a visit to Dhaisha refugee camp, guided tour inside by refugees, Dabka Folklore Dance workshop, followed by a briefing on the JAI and it Olive Tree Campaign. In the evening, half lf the students stayed at the YMCA and the other half with Palestinian families.
On the 4th, the students were accompanied into an olive picking activity at a threatened field in Wad Fukin village, west of the Bethlehem area. After lunch at the field, they had a guided tour to witness the settlers' bypass roads, wall and settlements within. Later in the evening they switched who sleeps at the YMCA and those with Palestinian families.
On Sunday the 5th, they were guided into Hebron, where they visited a glass and ceramics factory, followed by a briefing about the geopolitical situation in Hebron, and guided tours into the old city in two groups to witness closures, settlements, checkpoints, architecture, and inside the Ibrahim Mosque. They had a walk at the end on their own into the Shuhada street, which Palestinians are not allowed to walk through.
On the 6th, there program was in Ramallah, where they had a meeting at the Danish Representative Office, then to the Palestinian Circus School in BirZeit and some time in Ramallah.
