From the 28th of September to the 5th of October 2016, the JAI has organized a program in Palestine, for 22 Norwegian students, with their teacher and assistant, of the Global Safari Class at YMCA-YWCA related Sunnmøre Folks High School.
Their trip came into witnessing life under occupation and understanding the various affects of the Israeli measures against Palestinians. This included guided tours in Bethlehem, Hebron, Jerusalem and Jericho to witness the wall, settlements, land confiscations, closures, checkpoints, and so on, besides meeting with various Palestinian and Isaeli activists and groups. It also included visiting Palestinian refugee camps, playing with refugee' kids, and helping farmers at their threatened fields to pick their olive fruits.
Professional presentations and discussions were held with them on possible future engaging and involvement in making a change and putting pressure towards changing the Israeli policies and ending occupation, including the JAI' Olive Tree Campaign, the Boycott-Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, and Kairos Palestine call.
It also included visiting various religious and historic sites, old cities and markets, hiking, visiting and spending overnight at Bedouins. This is beside cultural exposure, as well as attending Sunday church service and meeting Palestinian Christian figures and congregation' members.
