The Joint Advocacy Initiative organized a 5-day trip in Palestine for a delegation of board members and senior staff from our partner YMCA and YWCA in the Netherlands.
The trip included visiting various areas including Ramallah, Jerusalem, Jericho, and Bethlehem, while witnessing some YMCA and YWCA activities and programs.
It also includes presentations and introductions to the YMCA, YWCA and their Joint Advocacy Initiative work and campaigns, the Kairos Palestine initiative, the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) campaign, the Israeli settlements and wall inside Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
Guided tours and visits were organized in the Bethlehem area: Nativity Church, Refugee Camp, witnessing land confiscation and meeting some Olive Tree Campaign farmers, while in Jerusalem within the old city and with the Israeli Committee Against House Demolition.
Discussion was made on developing the cooperation with the JAI advocacy work and campaigns.
