"Freedom and Dignity" hunger strike enters its 28th day
The mass hunger strike launched by more than 1800 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails to demand better living and medical conditions among other demands, has entered its 28th day.
The strike, known as "Freedom and Dignity" battle, was started on April 17 when imprisoned Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti launched an open-ended hunger strike campaign to protest the difficult humanitarian conditions in Israeli jails.

Norway's largest trade union federation endorses full boycott of Israel to advance Palestinian human rights
The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), representing close to one million workers, endorsed a full boycott of Israel to achieve Palestinian rights under international law. LO is the largest and most influential umbrella organization of labor unions in Norway.
Commenting on this significant BDS victory in Norway, Riya Hassan, the Europe Campaigns Coordinator with the Palestinian BDS National Committee, said: The Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC) salutes the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) for endorsing a full "international economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel" as a necessary means to achieve Palestinian fundamental rights, including the right of return for the refugees and equality for Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Knesset's new bill 'portrays racism as entirely normal'
New legislation to cement the definition of Israel as a state belonging exclusively to Jews around the world is a "declaration of war" on Palestinian citizens of Israel, the minority's leaders warned this week.
The bill, which defines Israel as the "national home of the Jewish people", passed its first vote in the Israeli parliament on Wednesday, after it received unanimous backing from a government committee on Sunday.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to get the measure on to the statute books within 60 days.
Among its provisions, the legislation - popularly known as the Jewish Nation-State Bill - revokes the status of Arabic as an official language, even though it is the mother tongue of one in five citizens. Israel's population includes a large minority of 1.7 million Palestinians.
