Students Exchange Programs

Students exchange programs were established with a number of schools and students' groups. Through such exchange the JAI works with Palestinian schools and students, train and empower them to communicate Palestine from a teenagers' perspective, who then travel to respective international schools and receive internatiobal schools' global classes in Palestine and at their schools, with the facilitation and organization of the JAI.

Fours students' exchange programs already running with the YMCA-YWCA Rønningen Folkehøgskole in Norway; Nørre Nissum Efterskole, Dronninglund Efterskole and Midtsjællands Efterskole through DanChurch Aid in Denmark.

The JAI's training program for the coming students' exchange period, 2023-2024, started in July 2023, and lasts for almost 3 months, with Palestinian students in the ages of 15 and 16. They come from Al-Khader Girls Public School, Orthodox Shepherds High School - Beit Sahour, Shurouq Organization in Dhaisha refugee camp and Al-Rowwad Cultural And Arts Society in Aida refugee camp.

The training tackles the topics of UN and Security Council resolutions, Palestinian identity, the international community's stands on the Palestinian cause, communication and presentation skills, Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) campaign locally and internationally. It also include fields' activities, including olive picking and planting, visits and tours into refugee camps and villages. Some of these students would be later on selected to visit partner Danish efterskoles, and will be part of the Danish schools visits to Palestine, Spring 2024.
