Danish Silkeborg high School day program with the JAI

On Saturday the 5th of November 2016, the JAI hosted a student's group of 33 students, plus 2 teachers and the headmaster, of Silkeborg Danish High School, who are visiting the Holy Land.

Their days started with olive picking at a threatened field in the village of Nahhalin, south-west of the Bethlehem area, where they helped a Palestinians family, listened to their story and provided protective presence for them.

lunch prepared by the family at the field, they had a JAI' guided tour to witness the bypass road, settlements and wall in e Bethlehem area. This was followed by a presentation by the JAI team about the YMCA and YWCA in Palestine, JAI work and activities, some geopolitical background on the Israeli measures and practices against, land, olive trees, farmers, which required the JAI' responsive Olive Tree Campaign with its practicalities, programs, and impact.

Later in the afternoon, the JAI manager gave briefing about the Palestinian Kairos Initiative, with some movie screening, and the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, which both the JAI are active leaders and members in.

At dinner, the Danish students were accompanied by Palestinian students, members of the JAI' supervised Palestinian Youth Ecumenical Movement, who chatted with them, shared their stories, reflection on their daily life under occupation, with their dreams an perspectives.
