National Unity Government

Personally, I think the National Unity Government is not the ideal solution for the extreme conditions we face living in Palestine, but it is our best option at the moment. It will be able to succeed if it is formed with care and with the consensus of all the parties on every single point.

Unity is strength and hence singularly none can be as strong or can do as much as those united. It’s the same for us- the Palestinians. As long as my country had one party as its leader it could not achieve anything, but hopefully the National Unity Government, that unites all the Palestinian political parties, will be able to achieve and fulfill all of our hopes and aspirations.

Above all, we have to overcome the international sanctions against us and fight to do away with the lack of control and insecurity in Gaza.

Moreover, political stability will be positive for us as some foreign countries will resume their financial aid to the government. It can serve us very well, however it is not enough. All we can say is that something is better than nothing.

Recently, some European countries have resumed their financial support because they support the new government. Also, the chaos in Gaza created by the clash between the two Palestinian parties has declined and has almost ended.

The National Unity government is a reflection of the Nation Accord documents signed by Palestinians through their representatives. Thus, a large number of Palestinians agree with our new government.

Finally, in my opinion, the National Unity government serves the Palestinian people and not any other external country.
