Press Release
3rd, March 2008
The Israeli deputy Minister of War (defense) has threatened for the implementation of what he called a Holocaust, genocide, against the people of Gaza . This call came through a radio interview, in which he assured that Israel will use any available weapons for defending its own people.
This statement came during the preparation phase and practices of ugly indiscriminate killing to all lives in Gaza . The besieged and imprisoned Palestinian citizen in the prison of the Gaza Strip, who suffers from the lack of electricity and clean water, food, medicine and the basics of life, since a long time, without genuine international rallying in spite of all the official reports issued by many international entities and sides is a victim and target of these racist policies.
This is very serious and dangerous issue because it is already implemented on the ground, and it comes from official political and military senior level and the Israeli military capacity and the silence and disregard international community for such statements and actions
The death of any human being is the loss of civil and human pain, where civilians pay the price of the irrational policies of the political leaders. However, a simple comparison in the last week shows that one Israeli civilian and two soldiers were killed during the execution of colonial military missions against the Gaza Strip; while more than a hundred Palestinians were killed, including more than twenty children, and a number of women.
The greatest lesson that the world worked carefully on learning from the Holocaust is that we must not repeat such disasters. However, issuing such statement publicly and supporting it with clear and heinous practices by the victims of the Holocaust, under the international silence and justification, is a indignation and provocation issue, and a danger bell that refers to the size of racial discrimination and the fascism age we are living.
We, at the Occupied Palestine and Golan Heights Advocacy Initiative (OPGAI), call our partners and friend for urgent actions to expose and condemn these policies to stop them. This call supports our former Boycott – Divestment – Sanctions call, by which Israel should revise its policies that are leading to a new disaster which might be more dangerous than disasters humans ever lived.
There is no time for waiting; it is the time for action
